For some countries an import permit will be required for dipslides. Below we have listed the steps required for the countries we often get questions regarding.

Australia

To import dipslides into Australia you will need a "Permit to import conditionally non-prohibited goods" from the Australian Government Department of Agriculture. This can be obtained via BICON

The permit above will need to include the following:

1. Prepared media including pre-poured plates, swabs and vials :

End use: In vitro use or in vivo use in laboratory organisms
Country of export: Various countries
Country of origin: Various countries
Permit Conditions: Prepared culture media including pre-poured plates, swabs and vials no greater than 50ml or 50g

OR

Other information the Australian Government will need

They will need confirmation that:

  1. All of our dipslides include less than 40ml of prepared culture media.
  2. The pack size is less than 3 kg.
  3. The products are pre-packed for retail sale.
  4. The product does not contain more than 20g of animal derived material.
  5. The product does not contain blood products of sera.
  6. The product contains culture media sterilised at 121 0C for 15 minutes and plastic components sterilised by gamma irradiation at 25 – 37 Kg.

As of 4th June 2020 we can confirm our dipslides meet the above requirements.

They may also require this on a letter headed PDF from ourselves which we can provide if required (usually a print out of this page will suffice but do contact us if a letterhead is required).
