This agar contains a neutraliser designed for testing samples / surfaces that have been cleaned with a germicide / disinfectant. The agar on the other side (CLED) measures growth of urinary organisms. This test is used for urine screening tests or cleaning checks.

About Our Nutrient TTC (neutralisers) + Cystine Lactose Electrolyte Deficient (CLED) Dipslides (Box of 10)

The Nutrient TTC / CLED dipslide is a dual media slide for clinical and laboratory applications as well as for cleaning checks. This dipslide features two agars (culture medium), one on each side. This dipslide has Nutrient agar with TTC (red spot dye) and neutralisers on one side. Nutrient agar measures a total microbial count. The other side of the dipslide has CLED agar. CLED agar measures a total count (urinary organisms).

Nutrient TTC agar - This agar is often used to test the general health of a sample and provides a total count of aerobic bacteria / microbes. This formulation includes neutralisers which makes it ideal for using to test samples that have been cleaned using germicides.

CLED agar - This agar is used for urine diagnostics and supports the growth of urinary potential pathogens. A viable count of urinary organisms is detected using this agar. This agar is also used to test samples that may have come into contact with urine (such as laundry and surfaces).

These come in a pack size of 10 slides per box. The slide has a flexible paddle and is located within a shatterproof container.

How to use the dipslides

In Liquids

Simply remove the dipslide and immerse in the sample for approx 10 seconds. Remove dipslide and allow to drain for a few seconds, then replace the slide back into the tube and incubate for a minimum of 24 hours (up to a maximum of 48 hours).

Surface testing

Remove the Dipslide from the container and press against the surface for approx 10 seconds. Replace the slide back into the tub and incubate for a minimum of 24 hours (up to a maximum of 48 hours).
