About Our e-coat dipslides (box of 10)

The E-coat dipslide is used for detecting microbiological contamination in e-coating applications / rinse waters. These dipslides test for aerobic bacteria, yeasts and moulds (fungi). The nutrient (straw coloured) side tests for aerobic microbes and contains red spot dye. The addition of red spot dye means that colonies that grow on this agar appear as red dots, making them easy to view and count. The malt extract side (brown coloured) tests for yeasts and moulds which will appear as straw coloured colonies (yeast) or fluffy colonies (mould). Scroll down to the 'Reading The Results' section for examples of colony appearance.

E-coating can provide the perfect environment for microbiological contaminants to grow. A wet environment and temperatures conducive to growth can contribute to this. Bacterial or fungal contamination in e-coating systems can cause visible biofilm, unpleasant odours and changes in pH. Contamination can also affect the efficacy of the system.

In addition to the dipslides, there is also an option to add the PCStestr 35 to your purchase when buying this product. The PCStestr 35 is a handheld digital device that tests pH, TDS, Conductivity and Temperature.

Flexible paddle

Flexible Paddle

Each dipslide features a virtually unbreakable and flexible paddle allowing for even, full surface testing.

Easy run off design

Easy Run Off Design

Due to the design of the dipslide, fluids will drain off quickly during testing.

Recessed Handle

Recessed Handle

Each slide has a handle built into the lid that is recessed to help keep your fingers dry during testing.

Side Indicator

Side Indicator

One side of the slide will have a circle indicator so you know which side was used for testing which type of contaminant.

Dual sided paddle

Dual Sided

Each dipslide is dual sided to allow multiple contamination testing with one test.

Thick reliable Agar

Thick Reliable Agar

Each agar is thick (approx 4mm) and raised above the dipslide to allow for easy surface testing.

How to use the E-coat dipslide

Simply remove the dipslide and immerse in the sample for approx 10 seconds. Remove dipslide and allow to drain for a few seconds, then replace the slide back into the tube and incubate for a minimum of 24 hours (up to a maximum of 120 hours).

A comparison chart is included so you can easily compare your results.

Liquid Testing

Step 1 : For liquid testing

For dip testing, immerse the E-coat dipslide into the fluid for 10 seconds then remove and allow to drain for a few seconds.

Incubate the dipslide

Step 2 : Incubate Slide

Label the tube with the included stickers then place the slide into an incubator and allow to incubate.

compare dipslide results

Step 3 : Compare results

Count the amount of colonies that have grown on the slide and compare them to the comparison chart provided.

Dip Slide Storage

Store dip slides in a cool dry place (optimum temperature 8-15 degrees c). Use before the expiry date on the box.

Dip Slide Disposal

Used dip slides should be incinerated, autoclaved or soaked in disinfectant for several hours before disposal.
